Privacy Policy for PlayBridge

Overview

PlayBridge is a browser and TV remote control app for Android that allows you to browse the web on your phone and send video content to your Android TV over your local network. We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with any server, service, or third party.

Data stored on your device

PlayBridge stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Browsing history and bookmarks — URLs and titles of pages you visit, stored locally using a Room database. Never transmitted anywhere.
• Browser tabs — Open tab state, stored locally for session restore.
• TV pairing information — A randomly generated auth token and the IP address/port of your paired TV, stored locally. Used only to reconnect to your own TV on your local network.
• App settings — Preferences including TMDB API key, Debrid API keys, playback preferences, and plugin configuration. All stored locally on your device.
• Downloaded media — Files downloaded via the app are stored in your device's local storage.

All data is stored using Android's Room database and DataStore APIs on the device itself.

Network usage

PlayBridge communicates over your local network only to connect to your paired Android TV. No data about your usage, browsing, or content is sent to the developer.

The app also connects to the following external services when explicitly configured by you:

• TMDB (The Movie Database) — If you provide a TMDB API key, the app fetches movie and TV show metadata. Your usage is subject to TMDB's privacy policy.
• Debrid services (Real-Debrid, AllDebrid, Premiumize) — If you provide API keys, the app communicates with these services to manage your downloads. Your usage is subject to each service's own privacy policy.
• Stremio-compatible addon endpoints — If you install community addons, the app communicates with those addon servers to fetch catalog and stream data. Each addon operates independently.
• Websites you browse — Standard web browsing traffic between your device and the sites you visit.

None of this data is routed through or accessible to the developer.

Permissions

• Internet / Network access — Required for web browsing and communicating with your TV over the local network.
• Bluetooth — Used to connect to your Android TV as a Bluetooth remote control.
• Wi-Fi Multicast — Used for local network discovery (mDNS) to auto-detect your TV.
• Foreground service — Keeps media downloads running while the app is in the background.

Third-party services

PlayBridge uses GeckoView (Mozilla's browser engine) to render web pages. GeckoView's own privacy policy applies to its operation. PlayBridge does not use any analytics, advertising, or crash reporting SDKs.

Children's privacy

PlayBridge does not knowingly collect any information from children.
