Overview

PlayBridge TV is a media player app for Android TV that allows you to control playback from your phone over your local network. We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with any server, service, or third party.

Data stored on your device

PlayBridge TV stores the following data locally on your device only:

All data is stored using Android's DataStore and SharedPreferences APIs on the device itself.

Network usage

PlayBridge TV runs a local WebSocket server and uses mDNS (Bonjour/DNS-SD) for your phone to discover the TV on your local network. All communication happens exclusively between your own devices on your local network. No data is sent to any external server or the developer.

The app also connects to URLs you explicitly provide (e.g. video streams, subtitle files) to play media.

Third-party services

PlayBridge TV does not use any analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or other third-party SDKs that collect data.

Children's privacy

PlayBridge TV does not knowingly collect any information from children.
